Panel on Legalized Recreational Cannabis

Omar Ha-Redeye moderated a panel at the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) conference, at the Halifax World Trade Convention Centre, 1650 Argyle St., Halifax, on Oct. 18, 2019.

The following topics were covered:

• Advising new entrants on licensing requirements, regulatory compliance, application and corporate structures sufficient to operate in the highly regulated environment;
• Interpretation of the legal regimes in a variety of provincial jurisdictions;
• Drafting corporate agreements and documents specific to the cannabis industry and ancillary activities;
• Running prospectus exempt capital raises to get your start-up capital in place; and
• Second wave of recreational legalization in Canada: cannabis edibles.
